CEAS

Civics that Empowers All Students

CEAS (Civics that Empowers All Students) is a federally funded project that supports effective educator development through the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution curriculum. The program provides paid professional learning for elementary and middle school teachers, distributes classroom textbooks, and measures its impact through rigorous research.

Through yearlong professional development communities, CEAS aims to boost student success in civics, literacy, and related competencies. The program is designed to help all students — regardless of background — develop the civic knowledge and skills essential for active participation in democracy.

West Virginia teachers interested in participating in CEAS can contact the WV Civic Education Foundation for information about enrollment, stipends, and professional learning hour credits.
